05/09/2015 22nd Annual Ride for the Rouge Northeast

The Ride consists of a 25km/50km route for cyclists (for those eager cyclists, do both routes for a beautiful 75km route) or a 5km hike for hike enthusiasts. All money raised through your donations & collected pledges will ensure the continued operation of the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre and its education, conservation & environmental restoration programs as well as guided interpretive hikes & other programs.

City of Toronto All Events http://ift.tt/1EEzHVg The Science Chase is an Amazing Race style competition for adults where teams of two will need to complete several challenges hidden throughout downtown Toronto, starting in David Pecaut Square. Specifically, large challenge stations will be setup throughout the downtown Toronto core and teams will need to complete a minimum of 12 of the available 20 challenges within a 6 hour time window before returning to the registration booth. Challenges will each focus on a different area of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and will be educational, engaging, fun and accessible to the non-scientific community. Registration is available in advance online through www.sciencechase.ca, and the event has a 500 team capacity.

The announcement comes as the Bay Area band wraps up work on their follow-up to 1997's Album of the Year. The as-of-yet untitled album is due this May via the band's newly formed imprint, Reclamation Recordings, which is distributed by Ipecac Recordings. Faith No More founder and bass player, Bill Gould is overseeing production. “Here we go,” said Gould. “First North American tour dates, some in cities we haven't played in over 17 years. Clarinetist Michael Westwood will join forces with the orchestra performing Ian McDougal's "Clarinet concerto" under the direction of maestro John Palmer. The program will also feature the world premiere of a new composition by Toronto based composer Frank Horvat and a "Suite of Latin Dances" by John Palmer who is also the conductor for this event. Michael Westwood holds a Master's degree in clarinet performance from the University of Toronto. A product of the studio of the late great clarinet pedagogue and master Avrahm Galper, Michael Westwood has collaborated with a great number of leading Canadian classical musicians over the past two decades.
