York Mills Valley Park (Toronto) | http://www.torontofunplaces.com/component/k2/item/231-york-mills-valley-park | Walk south of Mill Street, near the tall buildings at York Mills and Yonge and you're in another world. You can easily reach the paved trail off Mill Street from the south of the parking lot by York Mills subway station. There, you'll see water running down the ramp of a canal by a white house which looks like a fancy cottage. The illusion of being in the country is perfect, even though the stream (actually the West Don River) is quite manicured at this point. Further, the path reaches a very nice playground with a great hill as a background. If you keep going, you'll get to a viaduct, the best spot to get closer to the stream. |
