04/10/2016 21st Annual Schubertiad Downtown

City of Toronto All Events http://ift.tt/1RB5GZz Die Schone Mullerin, one of Schubert's most famous song cycles, tells the story of a young Wanderer who comes upon a brook. He follows it to the mill. There, he falls in love with the Mullerin of the title, but his love is unrequited. In truly Romantic fashion, he obsesses and despairs and ultimately.. drowns. While we wouldn't dare change a thing about our Wanderer's journey, we just couldn't leave you without a happier ending! This year's spring-time Schubertiad goes even further, our second young wanderer is a Shepherd – yes, you know the one: on the rock – but this time, the journey ends in the joyful anticipation of Spring and rebirth. With: Jeffrey Ollarsaba, tenor | Ilana Zarankin, soprano,Boris Zarankin, piano | Inna Perkis, piano
