However, when Betts is diagnosed with dementia, Sybil must rally friends and family together to protect and care for her best friend, putting a new twist into an old relationship. The strength with which they adjust to this difficult reality, while continuing to celebrate the joys of life, clearly demonstrates their deep commitment and the power of love to sustain a bond under the most challenging circumstances.
