09/05/2015 Vietnamese Lantern Festival Central West Free

City of Toronto All Events http://ift.tt/1Uef9qM The Vietnamese Lantern Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival is a day for all families and local communities in Toronto to gather and to celebrate the end of summer by eating moon cakes and exploring what the Vietnamese culture has to offer. Our free and family-friendly event offers children activities to display local talents and the Ao Dai (traditional Vietnamese long dress) competition. We have a lantern competition, which is the pride of the festival because it shows the dedication into making their unique lanterns. The Ao Dai competition is a fashion show for everyone of all ages to show off their unique dressing style. At the end of the festival, we will have a maleficent lion dance dancing with the children.
