Recently named to the Polaris Music Prize Long List for their most recent album, Turning Rocks, Simon Angell (a founder of the Patrick Watson Band) and his now-wife Erika, form the heart of Thus Owls — a magical, mystical quintet that finds inspiration in sources as varied as Alice Coltrane, Japanese surf-rock and PJ Harvey. Special guest and Montrealer Michael Feuerstack — of Snailhouse, Wooden Stars and Bell Orchestre — is a welcome addition to the evening's proceedings. Supported by the Department of Canadian Heritage
