City of Toronto All Events http://ift.tt/1DWWhcx This traditional Good Friday Concert has earned a reputation for musical excellence, providing a sober and moving experience. Played in the lovely, historical Sanctuary, the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré, the Dance of Death by Hugo Distler, Stabat Mater by Josef Rheinberger, and other music by Marc-Antoine Charpentier and Dieterich Buxtehude, set the tone of grief, the counter point to the elation of Easter. The Metropolitan Festival Choir is joined by instrumental group, including harp and continuo organ.
