08/07/2014 Summer Music in the Garden presents "Songs of Wandering" Downtown Free

City of Toronto All Events http://ift.tt/1qdS9do The Montreal-based Bombadils return with original songs inspired by their cross-continent travels: a contemporary sound rooted in tradition, fired by virtuosity, generosity and imagination. Since the release of their first album, Fill Your Boots!, The Bombadils have wandered, performing in canoes on the Tobique River, skiing in the mountains of Sierra Nevada and on Canada's own VIA rail train. They have written songs of their travels, in their bluegrass and Celtic-inspired voice, a decidedly contemporary sound that combines soaring melodic lines, tight rhythmic energy, and virtuosity. Anh Phung (Irish whistles and flute), Sarah Frank (Fiddle and voice), Luke Fraser (guitar, mandolin and lead vocals), Evan Stewart (upright bass).
