City of Toronto All Events http://ift.tt/2dOsvOx Esprit Orchestra is thrilled to open our 2016/17 Season with a celebration of renowned Canadian composer, R. Murray Schafer. The program features performances of three of Schafer's most important works for the concert stage. The program highlights the long musical friendship and working relationship Esprit has had with Schafer. The concert includes guest performances by some of Canada's most outstanding, internationally acclaimed soloists including mezzo soprano Krisztina Szabo, champion of new music and flutist Robert Aitken and percussionist Ryan Scott. To round out the program, rising-star American composer Andrew Norman's full blast percussion concerto "Switch" will have its Canadian premiere with Esprit Orchestra.
