City of Toronto All Events http://ift.tt/2c8N4VV On Wednesday, September 21, 2016, in recognition of World Alzheimer's Day, the Purple Elephant invites the public and media to its Purple Couch Campaign. The non-profit, which raises awareness about the disease amongst young people worldwide, is setting up a purple couch in the middle of Union Station from 7 to 11 am. The purple couch, provided by La-Z-Boy, takes its distinctive colour from the official colour of the Alzheimer's movement. Passers-by are encouraged to have a seat and share their memories about a friend, family, or colleague that has been affected by the disease. Photos and videos of the moments will be shared with them and the public to capture the memories.
