City of Toronto All Events http://ift.tt/2auTxs6 Concluding the Aga Khan Museum's Bollywood Classics Series, Jodhaa Akbar returns to the 16th century as Emperor Akbar takes the romantic lead in a spectacular production that includes politics, religion, and love in its vast reach. Described as “filmmaking on the grand scale of Cecil B. DeMille,” Jodhaa Akbar dramatizes Emperor Akbar's stormy relationship with the fiery Hindu princess Jodha. Wanting to bring about a long and lasting peace between his empire and the Rajput kingdoms, Mughal emperor Akbar agrees to marry Jodha, who is already betrothed to a Rajput prince. Misunderstandings and conflict ensue as politics continue to define the lives of the newlyweds — and to shape a diverse empire.
