City of Toronto All Events http://ift.tt/1p9v6WA Four centuries after his death, The Musicians In Ordinary present “Sweet Swan of Avon”, three evenings of melody in music and both harmony and discord in texts, as they celebrate Shakespeare (1564-1616) in the second of three special performances. In Part II, “Shakespeare's Shakespeare's Saints & Sinners”, soprano Hallie Fishel, lutenist John Edwards and a violin band led by Christopher Verrette perform music from the Tudor and Stuart eras, composed by William Byrd, John Dowland and Thomas East. David Klausner, professor emeritus of English and Medieval Studies, University of Toronto, reads from from such plays as Macbeth, Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet in the original pronunciation. The series concludes Saturday, April 23.
