City of Toronto All Events http://ift.tt/1ytUJFl From humble beginnings in 1995 when four choirs of different ethnic backgrounds met to sing for and with each other, Singing Together has grown to feature dozens of ethnic choral groups from the Toronto region presenting songs from around the world to thousands of enthusiastic listeners, ending each concert with a massed choir performance of some of the great pieces of choral literature. This year's 20th anniversary concerts will conclude with Toronto composer and singer Bill Candy's "Common Ground", Canadian jazz pianist Oscar Peterson's "Hymn to Freedom", and the "Hallelujah! Chorus" from Handel's Messiah, showing that people from the most diverse backgrounds can live and work together in friendship and harmony.
