02/25/2015 Threads of Hope Downtown Free

City of Toronto All Events http://ift.tt/1yJqFz5 The MNJCC has provided their gallery for this remarkable fabric arts exhibit assembled by the Omas Siskona of Waterloo. This incredibly beautiful exhibit consists of 29 individual pieces, each accompanied by an inspirational statement by the artist expressing their hope, celebration of life and admiration for the role of African Grandmothers. To view it is to have an enriched awareness and profound respect for these Grandmothers, and for the artists who are honouring them with their work. On the second last day of the Threads of Hope exhibit, Michelle Landsberg will speak Voices of Power at 2 pm in the Al Green Theatre in celebration of International Women's Day. A fundraising silent auction of the Threads of Hope artwork will follow.
