02/22/2015 Wild Poetry: a writing and reading workshop in the city Central West $20 - $29

City of Toronto All Events http://ift.tt/170e1oU You don't need to be a birder or a biologist to have a relationship with nature. And a nature poem needn't be an ode to a swan. It might be a rant, a lament, an exploration, a surprise. Come hunt the wild woods in the heart of the city for that unmistakable poetic call. Local poet Anita Lahey will introduce you to some great poems engaging with the natural world from the Best Canadian Poetry anthologies. You'll soak up the winter wonderland in High Park, explore some trails, and start some of your own verse. About the instructor: Anita Lahey is assistant series editor of the Best Canadian Poetry in English anthology. Anita has led writing workshops in the National Gallery of Canada and is also a journalist.
