Melissa Tseng is a Toronto-based visual artist who specializes in encaustic painting. She is best is known for her soothing large-scale paintings, which are built up of many intricate layers of manipulated beeswax. With each layer she plays with the transparency of the medium, allowing for a rich history to build and mature through the numerous layers of her pieces. Her luminous, ethereal and textured encaustic compositions have been critically acclaimed and collected across Canada, the United States and South Africa.
